Biography

Kirk grew up in a Greek American family outside of Boston and went to Harvard for an undergraduate degree in Art History, graduating in 1973. He then moved to Montana and worked in a variety of jobs from a Model A Restoration shop to working in a silver mine. After a year in Greece exploring his roots, he ended up in New York City working again with cars, in the Ferrari dealership. After moving to Boston he attended Mass College of Art where he received both his teaching certification and his Masters in Art Education. Until his retirement in 2021, he taught studio fundamentals, ceramics, video, sculpture and metal shop at Canton High School. Kirk now lives in mid-coast Maine where he is happily making metal sculpture full time.
